2nd Shift Supervisor

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

To supervise the production floor to facilitate the smooth running of the production process. To direct the production staff to ensure that all products are produced to the specified specifications.  To meet the company’s objectives in the production schedule. To enforce that all production staff comply with the company’s Health and Safety and 5S procedures’.

 

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain work flow by monitoring and measuring the steps of the production process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment.
  • Direct; monitor and motivate production staff.
  • Perform employee evaluations and provide discipline as required.
  • Completes production schedule with reporting results on shift production summaries
  • Be able to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Has an active role in the Quality process
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure good communication to production staff and other shifts
  • Complies with/enforces company standards and regularly participates in process improvement activities
  • Enhances production team and company reputation by accepting ownership of goals and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate’s degree in a Science/technology related field or 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing
  • 1+  years’ experience in supervision
  • Work independently 
  • Analytical reasoning and problem solving and detail orientated
  • Ability to stay focused on tasks, meet deadlines
  • Mathematics

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

Must be able to sit and stand intermittently, use a keyboard, climb stairs occasionally, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds with or without accommodations and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
