Scope of the job:

The Inventory Control Supervisor will determine optimal inventory stocking at each BRE site and coordinate the movement and storage of product between each site to maintain optimal inventory levels. They will outline cycle count processes, report results, analyse inventory data, resolve inventory discrepancies, and train others on inventory practices and procedures. They will support customers through order processing, picking, and shipping. They will supervise daily work schedule of assigned associates in warehouse. They drive continuous improvement for all assigned areas.

Key areas of responsibilities and accountability:

  • Responsible for inventory analysis for both manufacturing and distribution facilities
  • Determine optimal inventory levels by site
  • Adjust safety stock levels, and other inventory control tools to optimize inventory levels
  • Create, analyse and distribute metrics and reporting tools, which are used to drive business decisions
  • Adjust IFS settings for production and purchasing, and conduct general IFS maintenance
  • Coordinate replenishment activities for warehouses
  • Enter all intersite transfers in IFS ERP system
  • Further develop existing cycle count program while maintaining existing count schedule
  • Enter cycle counts in IFS ERP system
  • Summarize results of cycle count in weekly/monthly highlight report
  • Analyse inventory data and cycle counts, determine if the problem is recurring and if so, recommend a solution to fix the issue
  • Recommend process changes to minimize inventory loss
  • Lead, develop and mentor employees in conducting cycle counts and in correct inventory management
  • Provide operations management with recommendations to improve inventory accuracy. To include review of cycle counts and usage ensuring that our bill of materials accurately reflect the actual material usage.
  • Enter customer orders in IFS ERP system
  • Process all customer order reservations and pick tickets for both sites
  • Coordinate picking of customer orders, replenishment, and production products
  • Schedule and process shipments, both customer and intersite
  • Oversee receiving and enter receipts in IFS ERP system
  • Supervise warehouse material handlers, directing day to day activities to ensure coverage across all areas and optimal utilization of employees
  • Map workflows to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Support site projects as needed
  • Support IFS ERP updates and roll-outs
  • Other tasks as needed

Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience with an ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Must be self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

 Skills:

  •  Advanced Excel skills required
  • SQL and Access skills preferred
  • Advanced skills in data mining, analysis and reporting required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in procurement, merchandise/inventory planning, distribution, warehousing, or supply chain
  • Automotive or Retail supply chain experience preferred
